FAQ & glossary
Frequently asked questions
Why does my family play it differently?
Many card games have been passed on orally for generations, and almost every group has its own house rules. cardgames.zone always describes a common basic form. You’ll find well-known deviations on every game page under “Variants & house rules”.
Can I play the games here online?
Yes. You can play every game against the computer right in your browser. Playing online with friends works for almost all games – for example Skat, Doppelkopf, Rummy, Mau-Mau or Poker: create a table, send the link and fill empty seats with computer players if you like. You'll find the “Play online with friends” button on the play page of each game. Only patience games like Solitaire are played alone.
Can I print the rules?
Yes. Every game page has a “Print rules” button. Menu and navigation are hidden automatically when printing.
How is the top 10 for Germany compiled?
There is no official ranking. The order is an editorial estimate based on association sizes, sales figures and media reports. More on this under “Notes”.
